My Thoughts!
Firstly, this is about 296 pages. It is meant to be read by people 18 or older as it is a Dark fantasy Romance.
It is NOT standalone. It is a part of the 'Pine Hollow Series. There is a cliffhanger, one perspective reading, and check the triggers for the love of God.
NOW on to the good stuff!
WTF WOW! I cannot begin to express how AMAZING this book was from page one until the very last word! You know when you are reading something, and you think to yourself oh yea, I know where this is going? I did that reading this, and then I was smashed in the face with a twist. This single book gave me (and you if you read it) one bed, capacity, enemies to lovers, betrayal, magic, gods, and so much more, including heartwrenching, gut-punching feelings! Be warned that this is an emotional rollercoaster.
We follow Elodie, the MFC, and when she is in pain, trust me when I tell you, you will feel every ounce of that pain. But the best of all is deep down, when she becomes who she is, you will burst at the seams with joy and many cries of pride at the pages. I do not want to spoil anything, so I will keep my insight as limited as possible!
I suppose my fleeting words will be this; I did not know I could bear so much anger and love for these characters.
This book does contain some smexy stuff, but they are beautifully done in that they add to it all rather than take away from it.
I will leave you with one last thought. I wanted a resolution for her so badly. But, sadly and happily, I will have to wait for the second book.
Pick this book up! You won’t regret it!
